that rosebud girl
comings, goings, thoughts, whatever.
ho-hum.
not the greatest news all around, but it’s really not so bad ….
my bracket is officially dead. (thanks a lot, florida. bastards.)
i didn’t get chosen to sing the national anthem for a river cats game. (damn.)
ed and i can’t get usc season tickets next year … they’re not accepting “new” applications. bastards. i hope all the bandwagoners die. (edgar also went on a similar rant and i agree with him.) i suffered through the entire paul hackett era! doesn’t this qualify me in some way?!
(well, at least we might be able to get a pac-10 ticket pack. but, still.)
i suppose that’s it.
at least our new house kicks ass … and ed made a lot of awesome food the last two days. i feel very spoiled.
March 27, 2006 on 12:45 am | Comments Offgood, bad, etc.
the good:
ed and i are in our house. we’re moving crap back and forth. i’m a little shady on the moving help for sunday, but hopefully these folks come through. it just hit me — i am friends with an awful lot of flakers.
the so-so:
my bracket is … okay. we’ll leave it at that.
the bad:
have i mentioned that moving sucks?

a word about customer service:
when a lot of money is on the line and time is of the essence, and an important transaction is going to take place, do your customers a favor and tell them everything that is needed to make the transaction happen. knowing i needed a cashier’s check would have been nice. knowing i could wire my money would have been nice. stupid bastards.
(rant over.)
anyhow, ed and i have signed our signatures about fifteen billion times today and we have all the paperwork out of the way for the house. now we have to wait for money to exchange hands and we get the keys on wednesday (allegedly).
woo.

found this on pete’s IM away message. don’t know who wrote it, but it’s good stuff. enjoy.
as we stand together
between tomorrow and yesterday
my head is swimming with memories
and things i want to say
there are things you should remember
for i can no longer stay
there are things that i must tell you
before we go away
don’t forget i loved you
keep expectations high
don’t forget if you still love me
we never said goodbye
don’t forget that life
can bring a lot of pain
don’t forget to jump in puddles
after a pouring rain
don’t forget to lie on your back
and look at the stars at night
don’t forget to keep it simple
and stand up for what’s right
don’t forget to swing for the fences
and be the first one to forgive
when life becomes too overwhelming
don’t forget to live
don’t forget to ask ‘why?’
and that it’s courage in the end
don’t forget to be yourself
and an everlasting friend
don’t forget to whistle
don’t forget to cry
but above all else
don’t forget to fly
don’t forget you have a right to be here
always dare to win
when you find a tire swing
don’t forget to spin
don’t forget that when you’re down
you can always find a plus
don’t forget the way you feel right now
being here with all of us.

March 10, 2006 on 9:01 pm | Comments Offcountdown …
16 days until ed and i move into our new house. of course, we need to clean up the old joint before then because our landlord wants to show the place to potential renters. d’oh. the place is a minor disaster. we never really unpacked everything, but there is a ton of crap lying around.
it’s times like these that remind me why i hate moving so much. it is seriously the world’s biggest pain. i will be glad once we move … and i don’t have to do this again, hopefully ever. or at least the next 15 years.
moving also makes you realize how much useless crap you’re dragging around. ugh.
i’m thinking i need to have a sale of some sort … i also have all this inventory for my shop that is just dying to be sold …
